Why do you follow me

         
This is one of the questions that Jesus asked the crowd when He saw they were following Him.  He asked this several times through the course of the three and a half years of His ministry.    Why do you follow me; is “it because you were fed with the loaves and were filled and satisfied.” John 6::26 Amp                                                                                                                                                                                                      
“Stop toiling and doing and producing for the food that perishes and decomposes, but strive and work and produce rather for  the food which endures unto life eternal; the Son of Man will give you that for God the Father has authorized and certified Him” John 6:27 Amp

Matthew 16:24  Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.”

Are you being an example of Christ Jesus or are you following because of what you think or are gaining to feed your families and lining your pockets which have holes in them.  Do you have holes in your pockets.  

1 Peter 2:21For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in his steps.

John 8:12Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”Do you come to join in fellowship because of what you think you may obtain by  monetary gain?  Have you been taught to deceive and mingle with those who seek the Lord because you are Blessed or enriched by them?  Are seeking first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness or are you laboring to gain from the fruit of others.  
We are all being re-positioned and place in the fields to Labor for the Harvest that is coming forth for His inheritance and His Glory.  We need to seek our own hearts and ask ourselves am I laboring for His Kingdom or for gain for myself?  Is my heart right before the almighty God or is it stained and has holes in my garment.  If we judge ourselves God will not have to judge us.  I Corinthians 11:31
